These are some simple to follow steps to fixing your bathroom faucet:

You will first want to find where the leak is coming from. A leak that does not stop and continues is probably a problem stemming from your valve or the line from your sink to your water supply. If you water is going on in between each use of the faucet, that can cause a leak. Drain the sink and valves and that should solve the problem.

Once the water is removed, lift the lid and observe the drip. Once you find where the leak is coming from, tools that you have in your toolbox are usually all you need to fix it.

An old washer can also be cause to your problem. You will need to exercise caution when fixing this as it is electrical and may cause an electric shock. You will want to take out any screws that are in the washer, there are normally two on the bottom corners. Once you have taken this off, remove the bottom. There will be wires, so make sure you do not touch any of these.

The best way to look for leaks is to use a flashlight; they will be able to shine light into the dark corners under your sink where you would not normally be able to see. Often, it will look like water is leaking everywhere; this is normally not the case. Water can stand in areas especially when it is not dried up immediately. You may see white streaks which is calcium or puddles. Take caution when starting the machine that it is not near any water.

Also ensure you tools are removed. In general, fixing a bathroom faucet is a simple procedure. If you find you are having difficulty finding the leak or fixing it yourself, contact a plumber or repair person as they will be able to assist. This will be more costly, but if you are not confident in your skills it may be the best option.
