Tile designs come in all different sizes and shapes. The most common tile used in bathroom design is ceramic, often used in white which is neutral and pleasing to the eye. Adding tile to your bathroom will make it more appealing.

If you plan to change the tiles that are already in your bathroom, you will find it to be a difficult task. You will first want to know what color and design tile you want as that is the most important decision. You do not want to be stuck with a tile that you want to change in a few years as it is difficult and costly to do so. Choose something neutral and you will be satisfied with your choice. You will also want to consider how much tile you want to use. For example, do you want tile for your countertops, shower and bath? With this decision made, you can then decide if you want to use all the same or different tile for each area.

If you bathroom is small, you may want to consider using tiles that are light in color. This will make your bathroom appear larger. Natural light is wonderful in a bathroom and will save you money as you will not have to add extra lighting. One of the best additions to making your bathroom look larger is by adding a mirror.

Mosaic tiles are great accents, you just have to be conscious of how you use them. Too many mosaic tiles can make a bathroom look busy. Choose the right amount to add a touch of uniqueness, but not too many. If you aren’t comfortable with mosaic tiles, it is okay to stick with ceramic tiles. They last the test of time and never look outdated if you keep them white.

Make sure you choose a tile that matches and accents the color of your wall. You do not want anything to bold or colorful as this will make your bathroom appear smaller. Designing your bathroom is a fun project, but if you feel you are not up to the challenge, you can always contact a professional to assist.
